Therapeutic Accompaniment
“When we have the brilliant sanity of mind as a reference point when working with others, we are better able to help them discover their resources and develop confidence. If you only look at what is wrong with them, they will tend to see themselves only as a sum of problems. This serves to diminish their ability to care for themselves and will lead them to a false view of themselves, they will feel inadequate or unable to cope. Focusing only on what doesn’t work is a way of further coating their brilliant sanity, rather than uncovering it.”
I am Carmen León, a psychotherapist, specialising in third-generation therapies, as well as a certified meditation and yoga instructor with over 20 years of experience. My qualifications include training in Contemplative Psychotherapy from Nalanda Institute and certification in Compassionate Inquiry, developed by Dr. Gabor Maté. Additionally, I have pursued a variety of complementary studies and approaches that support a holistic view of the human experience.
My work is based on the contemplative sciences, which integrate modern psychology and neuroscience with the wisdom of meditative and contemplative traditions. I accompany processes of self-knowledge and emotional healing using diverse tools and perspectives to help people better understand their minds and positively direct it. This approach allows individuals to transform their challenges and afflictions into opportunities for growth and healing.
In my consultations, I incorporate mindfulness, meditation, somatic work, Compassionate Inquiry, and insights from sapiential philosophy. My goal is to address all aspects of the person—physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual—to foster a deeper understanding, integration, and reinterpretation of life’s challenges.
I provide trauma-informed support, drawing on frameworks such as Contemplative Neuroscience, Compassionate Inquiry, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment Theory, and Polyvagal Theory.
The therapies I offer are oriented to:
- Stress management
- Emotional self-regulation
- Development of coping skills
- Thought management
- Self-image and self-concept
- Codependency
- Anxiety
- Depression
- OCD
- ADD
- Life Project
The aim of this work is not simply to achieve functional well-being but to guide individuals toward discovering their authentic selves. I help people uncover and release unconscious patterns that shape their lives, while empowering them to draw on their own strengths and abilities. Together, we cultivate acceptance and awaken the inner wisdom necessary for deep healing and meaningful, fulfilling living.
